Aurora House is out in the Goldstream Valley, far enough from Fairbanks that the town's glow drops away, close enough that groceries are a short drive. In winter that's the whole point. You can watch for the northern lights from the couch, in socks, and only go out into the cold when the sky starts to move.
In summer it's a quiet base for Fairbanks with kids, with a big yard, long light evenings, and Chena Hot Springs an easy day out.
What’s there
- A north-facing window for watching the sky
- A first-timer's guide to reading the aurora forecast
